Welcome

A practice built around the person in the room.

Golden Hour Wellness Colorado was founded by Shayla Martinez-O’Brien, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 11 years of clinical practice. What began as one clinician is now a small, hand-picked team.

We believe true healing comes from an increased ability to tolerate challenging emotion, paired with a clearer understanding of your own value system. That work is slow, human, and worth it, and you don’t have to do it alone.

You can expect a co-pilot on your journey. Shayla Martinez-O’Brien, LPC · Founder

I use EMDR among other trauma-focused approaches to help clients better tolerate emotion related to past and present traumas and stressors. I believe true healing comes from an increased ability to tolerate challenging emotion along with a better understanding of one’s own value system.

I’m a Colorado native and do my very best to live up to the stereotype. I’m married, a mother of two, with two lab mixes at home.

Getting started

Three steps, no mystery.

The hardest part is the first message. Everything after that, we handle together.

01

Reach out

Call, email, or book online. Tell us as much or as little as you want. A sentence is plenty.

02

Free consultation

A short, no-pressure conversation about what you’re looking for and which therapist fits best.

03

First session

In person or by telehealth anywhere in Colorado. We’ll set the pace together from there.

Insurance & rates

In-network with three major plans.

If you don’t see your carrier, reach out anyway. We can talk through out-of-network reimbursement and self-pay options.

  • Aetna
  • United Healthcare
  • Cigna

Good Faith Estimate: under the No Surprises Act you have the right to a written estimate of expected charges before your first session. Ask us and we’ll send one over.
