What therapy here costs

We’re in-network with Aetna, United Healthcare and Cigna for individual therapy. With one of those plans you pay whatever your policy sets as your copay or coinsurance, and we’ll help you check that figure before your first session rather than after it.

If we’re out of network

Plenty of plans reimburse a meaningful share of out-of-network therapy, and most people don’t know what theirs does. You can check your out-of-network benefits in about a minute — it asks for your insurer and member ID and tells you what you’d get back.

Self-pay

You’re entitled to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before you begin, under the federal No Surprises Act. Ask and we’ll send one. No one should start therapy unsure what it costs.

Insurance is not accepted for Mama’s Golden Hour. Group sessions are self-pay. Insurance applies to individual therapy only.

Questions people usually ask first

Do you take insurance?

Yes. We’re in-network with Aetna, United Healthcare and Cigna for individual therapy. If your plan isn’t one of those, reach out anyway and we can talk through out-of-network reimbursement and self-pay rates.

Insurance is not accepted for Mama’s Golden Hour. Group sessions are self-pay.

How much does therapy cost?

With in-network insurance, you pay whatever your plan sets as your copay or coinsurance. We’ll help you check that before your first session.

For self-pay and out-of-network clients, you’re entitled to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before you begin. Just ask and we’ll send one.

Mama’s Golden Hour is $25 per session, or $150 for the full six weeks.

What happens in a free consultation?

It’s a short, no-pressure phone call, usually about 15 minutes. You say as much or as little as you want about what brings you in. We talk about whether this practice is a good fit and which clinician makes sense.

If we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so and point you somewhere better. That’s a normal outcome, not a failure.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes, throughout Colorado. Telehealth sessions run the same length and format as in-person ones. Many clients mix the two depending on the week.

Mama’s Golden Hour is virtual only, via Zoom.

What is EMDR, in plain terms?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a structured therapy for trauma. Rather than asking you to talk through a memory repeatedly, it uses guided attention to help your brain reprocess it, so it stops carrying the same charge.

It doesn’t erase what happened. It changes how much the memory dictates your present. You’re never pushed to revisit something before you’re ready.

Can I schedule with Ashley?

Not for individual therapy. Ashley co-facilitates Mama’s Golden Hour and consults on clinical practice, but she doesn’t see individual clients through Golden Hour Wellness.

Individual sessions are available with Shayla and Chrissie.

How long does therapy take?

It depends on what you’re bringing and what you want from it. Some people come for a focused stretch of eight to twelve sessions around a specific issue. Others stay longer.

We’ll check in openly about whether the work is helping, and you’re free to pause or stop at any point.

What if I’m in crisis?

This website and our contact form are not monitored for emergencies. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or Colorado Crisis Services at 1-844-493-8255. Both are staffed 24 hours a day. In an emergency, call 911.

Do you work with people outside Colorado?

Not currently. Our clinicians are licensed in Colorado, and therapy licensure is state-based, so you need to be physically located in Colorado during sessions.

We may add other states in future. If you're elsewhere and interested, get in touch anyway and we'll let you know if that changes.
